Richmond, VA (May 4, 2022) — The Global Education Office recognized students at the Global Learning and International Student Achievement Ceremony on Friday, April 29. The inaugural event celebrated students for their achievements in various programs during the 2021-22 academic year.

Jill Blondin, Ph.D., director of the Global Education Office, offered the keynote address, speaking about the importance of global learning. "When you think about global education, although we locate it internationally and we associate it with travel or crossing borders, really what it’s about is curiosity and growth," she stated.

"It's about flexibility and adaptability...and changing perspectives. It's about figuring out ways to do things better than you knew before because you've been exposed to those perspectives."

The following awards of achievement were given:

  • Study abroad scholarship winners
  • Phi Beta Delta induction
  • English Language Program completion
  • International student graduation (undergraduate and graduate levels)

Congratulations to all of the students who were recognized.
